GPW Recruitment are partnering with Ford Halewood Transmissions Ltd (FHTL) in Halewood to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Skilled Craftsman (Heat Treat Department)to work in their existing site during a huge transformation. Ford is investing £230m into the Halewood site to produce electric power units and it will be the first site to manufacture EV components in Europe, in 2024 with a capacity of 420,000 units.
Qualifications and Experience required by the Mechanical Maintenance Skilled Craftsman (Heat Treat Department)
Completed Mechanical Level 4 Apprenticeship
Candidate to preferably have experience in heat treat production environment working on high temperature carburising furnaces.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Production Planned Maintenance Team :- With Mechanical Bias
Assigned to Heat Treatment department for Emergency, Predictive and Preventive maintenance: -
Plan and carry out preventive maintenance actions on machines and associated equipment.
Including all electrical, PLC , refrigeration and mechanicalfunctions.
Collate data from the preventive maintenance actions and analyse information so as to plan required item replacement and overhaul.
Overhaul machine parts wherever possible to avoid need to buy new.
Identify and carry out machine improvement actions to improve performance /, OEE improvements.
Focus on identifying and implementation of root cause fix for breakdowns
Schedule maintenance improvements and 5 why generation continuous improvements.
Kaizen activities; safety, environment, cost reductions.
Stand in analyst role when required.

Salary of £43,912.80 pa (inclusive of 35% holiday bonus for 33 days per year; 25 vacation & 8 bank holidays) plus a shift rate of £27.5%
Hours of work are on a 7 day continuous shift pattern:
Shifts work in an eight-week cycle with an average of 42 hours worked per week.
This includes days and night shifts (2 days, followed by 2 nights and then 4 days off).
The shift start and finish times are:
Day Shift: 05:30 17:30
Night Shift: 17:30 05:30
